PokerRoom's blogger Team

Here are the men that have put together the blog for the WSOP. They work long days and hard nights and here at home base we are really proud of them.

Another Happy Customer

Do you think He's a Happy Boy????

Money MONEY money

That's right we've got 8, yes 8 PokerRoom members cashing at this years WSOP.. I could not be more proud and more jealous of the blogger team for getting to watch it all happen live.

It's hard to wait for the information to come through and not give real time blog updates like our boys on the front line can.

I have to say though this years blog is one of the best I have read.

Great job boys and good luck to all of you who are taking the money home..

oh ya and our Player Mod Arez_one is taking home some of that sweet sweet WSOP money, but he's not out yet..

pokerfiah: 43,200

Congratulations on making it through to Day 3

Arez_one kicking ass and taking names...

Pokah's own Player moderator has doubled up in Day 2a, according to our bloggers on the front line it was a beautiful hand of AA but it doesn't stop there.. Not only did he play it like a champ but the cards held up for him as well.

The Board rat out Jh Th 6h Kc 4H giving Arez the nut flush and doubling his stack up over 70K.

Congrats Arez_one the forums are proud of you.

Yesterday we also got word from non other than Mizzychu that Arez_one was in bed sick the day on his day off. We are certainly impressed that he's been able to play this well..

Now that's a poker face!

Team PokerRoom storms the poker rooms

Team PokerRoom marched into the WSOP yesterday and took on the tables with the same determination they did in their respective day 1 play..

Some made it, some did not but what does that matter we are so proud of our Team.. We know how tough it is to spend so many hours sitting in the poker room listening to the clacking of the chips and trying to concentrate on the task at hand. We also know that even in the best situations your cards might just not hold up.

Day 2a is over but Day 2b will begin very soon.. Our bloggers are keeping the WSOP blog over at the Newsroom very interesting and packed full of all the information you would want to know about. Make sure you Swing by

Allypat7 - Team PokerRoom's Number 1 Lady

Allypat7 is a lovely woman, with a good head for playing poker.

I met Ally at the welcome dinner, and I got the impression she was here to do some damage on those poker tables.

Blogger Liam got the chance to interview her during the dinner break on day 1 C and I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Keep up the good work Ally and good luck on Day 2

WSOP Fever

It looks like the forums are interested in the WSOP just as much as we are.

I'm just saying!!!

Puggy on busting out!

Puggy didn't have the best luck in the poker room at the WSOP but surely that won't stop him from having a good time while he's in Vegas.

Day 1 D Recap

Day 1 D kicked off with a bang it seems. Our PokerRoom crew for the day:

_f00bar_
bettysogray
Maltee
bodhisattva4
billybillard
Bumi3
fanslau
MickeMusxxx
Romualdo777
Gryzly

It sounded like another great day and we didn't even lose so many our players. At the end of day 1D we still had 6 out of 10 left... A fantastic result.

There's a break day at the WSOP and the Men and Women of PokerRoom are going golfing. Let's hope it's not too hot out and no one gets sunburnt or heatstroke.

Play on!

Hellmuth please bless us with your presence

In the same tacky fashion as last year Phil Hellmuth blessed the WSOP 2008 in what some might claim a fashionable entrance.

My opinion.... Well perhaps I should keep my opinion to myself...

Hej Hej Sverige

I've finally arrived back home, after what felt like forever and the first thing I do once I'm in the door. Check the PokerRoom blog, Puggy's blog and my email to see how the day went. I'm hooked! I've been wondering since Phoenix how everyone is doing today and I can see that our Puggy got knocked out..

I hope I will be able to catch up with him tomorrow, and hopefully he's not to upset with his performance. No worries Puggy there is plenty more to do while your in Vegas...

Congratulations to everyone who made it through to day 2 today...

Check out Puggy and Billybillards dual interview

Parting is such sweet sorrow

I've just arrived in Phoenix, Arizona and I'm waiting to board my flight on to London, but the only thing I can think of is our boys at the WSOP..

How are they doing, are they having fun, who's got the best stories etc, etc, etc.. I'm jealous of the blogger team for staying the whole journey. They are sure to have a blast there.

I already mentioned I will continue updating this blog with WSOP and other information. Hopefully I can get a few exclusive interviews with the Men and Women of PokerRoom.

We had to post this picture of Puggy in the epic Pokah T-shirt

Arez writes up his thoughts

Arez doesn't usually have a lot to say, he seems like a quiet guy with a lust for Poker and having a good time.

We were really happy to see he posted his comments on his first day at the WSOP in Pokah so we wanted to feature it here on PokerRoomSuze.

Send a message to him here "greetings from the wsop"

I finally got a laptop today (thanks Sam!) I won't bother you with stories about Vegas etc. Most things can be read elsewhere, and some things shouldn't be told at all lol. The Pokerroom staff are doing a fantastic job here, and it was nice to meet people I already knew such as Phil (thesheep), Puggy, Suze, Kristian etc., but also people I hadn't met before such as billybillard, Rochelle, Sam, Darth V., Stavros, Nick, BigWilson, WeeFatShug to name only a few.

As for the tourney itself. Well, it's tough lol! I managed to stay out of trouble for the first three sessions. With people like Olga Varkonyi and PokerStars Pro William Thorson at my table, a lot of action was guaranteed. We had one weak player at our table and he busted within the first half hour, doubling up Thorson and giving him the stack to bully the rest of the table. It sucked lol but anyway I was able to win more than I lost. After the dinner break the antes kicked in and it became difficult to maintain my chipstack as I had got all my good hands earlier when they didn't pay off. Thorson took out Varkonyi as well, which gave him even more power to dominate the table. I ran dry, and it annoyed me to see my chipstack fade away, so I decided to make a move with AJos from middle position. I raised preflop, and only one player called me. Flop came J73 rainbow. He checked, I bet, he called. Turn 6, same procedure. It was obvious he wouldnt fold. KJ maybe? I didn't know what to make of it tbh. Weird player he was. River K. He checked again. I considered going over the top and pushing the rest of my chips in but after 5 minutes, I was sure, it was a trap, so I checked the river. He had K3os lol. Oh well, it cost me 12k in total. A little while later Thorson lost his whole stack to another guy (ironically a PokerStars qualifier lol) whose stack went to over 100k. He used it wisely. None of us saw a flop for hours
sad
In the end, I was down to I guess 3500 chips, still waiting for a hand to move with, but I didn't get one. Half an hour to go, we were all moved to new tables, and luckily it was a much tighter one. I couldn't protect my blinds but I was able to pick up some myself so I didn't lose more chips. I was determined to either double up or go out, so I would at least be able to party a bit instead of coming back to the tourney for day 2 with a lousy stack. I went allin with AK and doubled up against AQ. With 5 minutes to play, the chipleader raised my BB and I went allin with 99 beating his 55, so I am on 15k now. Not great but could be worse. Plus I have nothing to lose on Tuesday so will be much more fun to play surely

Leaving Las Vegas

It's a bitter sweet return to Sweden today, but not the end of the blog. I will still be blogging about the WSOP and all the Pokah regulars that are fighting the good fight at the WSOP.

It's Puggy's day today, at least that was the last information we were given about when he would play. I'm crossing my fingers for him and will be getting in contact with him during his stay in Vegas.

The Blog team will be keeping you updated during the day on the teams progress.

Good luck everyone, I only wish I could be there with you..

Good Morning Poker land....

PokerRoom had 11 who made it through to Day 2, which is very encouraging to say the least, these guys fought a good fight and are that much closer to some of that WSOP money that everyone is after.

Today is Day 1 C and I am sure it will be another exciting and fun filled poker day.

See you out there and good luck to our Day 1 C'ers

Welsh Warrior

TheSheeep has had quite a ride today... He's been up he's been down, he went a bit further down and now he's on the upswing again.

But we're not worried, he has his head on straight.

Keep it going, keep it growing

Pizza and Beer

The dinner break has come and gone, 90 minutes seems like nothing compared to the hours we have put in today. The players are happy and upbeat and perhaps a wee bit tired. But a steady supply of Red Bull and energy drinks should see them through the rest of the night.

While most of us dined on Pizza and beer our noble Day 1B players nourished themselves with Pizza and energy drinks.

Good luck boys, see you at the next break!

The Most Epic Movie of the Summer

Holding On

After the second break Pokah's Arez is down to $18,000 in chips. I didn't get the chance to meet up with him this time around so we're not sure how he's feeling. But the dinner break is only 2 hours away and I am sure we will catch up with then.

It's hard to imagine that these players will play for 12 hours a day, it's even harder to imagine that they can keep up their concentration, energy and sanity.....

Perhaps it's the Insane that can last the longest?

Arez holding on after the break

We've just finished our first break for day 1b and I managed to catch up with Arez_one and some of the other PokerRoom players...

Arez seems pretty focused even though he says his table is pretty tough, He's chip stack is above the average for the PokerRoom players today, but we hope that his chip stack triples up and he takes home some of the WSOP money.

Pokah In The Poker Room Today

A quick sweep of the Poker Room and we found Arez_one focused on the task at hand. We met Arez in Derby this year where an unfortunate illness prevented him from continuing in the tournament.

But it looks like he's in better shape this time around and we're crossing our fingers for him.

Good Luck today Arez, we're rooting for you here in the Press Room...

Here we go!

Day 1 B is about to begin... Some famous country singer is singing the American Anthem because today is a special day in America.. It's their birthday!!

Happy Birthday America..... I think!

Hard days and long nights

After a long day in the Poker room we now have 11 of the original 14 players left going over to day two. My fellow hard core veteran bloggers stayed all day and night at the Rio while I got to head back to the hotel room and rest a little.

I'm impressed that the players and newsroom alike can stay up that long with out going just a little crazy. Way to go boys.

Well it's off to get some breakfast and a walk in before Day 1B starts and Puggy82 plays his first hands at the WSOP 2008.

Puggy82 Interviews NeilMC

It's Hard to stay alive!!

Two of the Team have seen their last hands in the WSOP Main Event. But fear not they are in high spirits. No tears have been shed so far!

Our little blogger team is holding up, we're in high spirits running back and forth trying to catch the latest news from the players. Slipping silently through the crowds of people snapping off shots of our fearless players hoping that we can capture the moment truthfully for them.

It's Kick off time!

The WSOP main event kicked off with an intro from Mr. Las Vegas and the UNLV marching band.

But once the first hands were dealt and Mr. Las Vegas retreated from the stage the ever present clacking of the chips filled the void.

People seem to be holding on, there haven't been any reports in the press room of a first player out of the tournament yet. But I would guess that it will happen soon.

Let's hope it's none of our boys.

The Press Room

I'm sitting quietly in the press room which is surprisingly empty. My co-workers and PR Bloggers are setting up slowly, chatting about how and where we can meet up with the players and when and where we should get our next cup of coffee.

As a first timer at the WSOP I'm surprised how little hype there is. I expected flashing signs and dancing girls but a small sign on the road that read WSOP Valet was the only sign that pointed us towards the WSOP 2008 at the RIO..

It's Here... It's Finally Here

It's 6:15am, I've been up for a few minutes now, checking emails and pretending that I'm only up because of the time change.

The reality is, it's Day 1 of the WSOP and I'm pumped. This is the first big live event I've been able to go too and I can only hope this is how the players are feeling. A sort of nervous, excitement that doesn't want to go away.

But I can't spend the next couple of hours up here in my room. I might go crazy if that happened so I'm heading down to the pool area and maybe I can work off some of this nervous energy.

Viva Las Vegas

Suze here, writing for you from my hotel room at the Mandalay bay in sunny Las Vegas...

It's HOT out there everyone, the difference between inside the casino and taking that first step outside is hmmmm, Crazy.

Last night was the big Welcome party, we were able to meet up with the players and get some face time with them and the party was good too.... There were belly dancers, show girls, Marlyn Monroe and Elvis.

I got to meet Puggy82 and spent some time chatting with him, a really cool guy. I look forward to hanging out some more.

Anyways that's all for now... I'm tired and tomorrow is Day 1 of the WSOP 2008
